Country of Happiness, Valleys, Monasteries & Fortresses - Bhutan
Bhutan is a small & beautiful Country situated in the Eastern part of Himalaya and bordered by China to the North and North West and by the Indian States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal and Sikkim on the East, South & West. More than 770 species of bird and 5,400 species of plants are known to occur throughout the kingdom. Bhutan has a rich primate life with rare species such as the golden langur. Bhutan’s uniqueness stems from its virtual isolation from the rest of the world until relatively recent times. Its people, culture, and religious festivals are testimony to a rich way of life which has changed little for over 1000 years. Monuments to its rich history and Buddhist tradition are visible throughout the landscape. The tourists are awed at the modernity and the tradition that Bhutan holds. The vibrant culture is radiated all over the place. It is bordered on the east and north by Tibet and located on the south-east of the Himalayas.
